The long wait for a victory is over with Bangladeshi footballers beating Cambodia by 1-0 in their first match of Group-A of the AFC Challenge Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
Enamul scored the only goal to give the soccer-lovers a chance to rejoice after 25 matches.
The last triumph for Bangladesh came in 2006 against Guam by 3-0 at the same tournament.
Bangladesh team dominated Cambodians throughout the match. The host nation attempted several times for the desired goals but their effort went in vain.
However, Aminul, savior under the bar was also superb. The best goalkeeper of the country saved many challenges of the opponent, respecting the crowd’s heartiest support for the game.
Bangladesh football coach Edson Silva Dido, while talking with the press on Saturday asked the people of the country to be patient, as they were supportive to the game of football in Super Cup, held in last month.
